BOATING SKILLS AND SEAMANSHIP COURSE

The United States Coast Guard and Auxiliary and Flotilla 2-4 will

present two Boating Skills and Seamanship Courses during 2008.

The first class starts on Monday, February 11 from 7PM to 9PM,

at North Park Village, 5800 N. Pulaski/Crawford Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. This is a 9 week class. There is a charge of $50.00 for this class. The subjects covered will be boat construction, equipment for your boat, trailering, lines and knots, boat handling, rules of the road, navigation and boating safety. This is a basic course and a must for new and prospective boaters, and is also a good refresher for you old "salts." Everyone is invited to attend. Bring family, friends and be a better, safer informed boater.

The second course is also a Boating Skills and Seamanship Course.

This class starts on Monday, April 21, from 7PM to 9PM, at the

Diversey Yacht Club, 2601 Cannon Drive, Chicago, Illinois. This

is an 8 week class. There will be a charge of $50.00 for this class.

The subjects covered will be boat construction, equipment for your

boat, trailering, lines and knots, boat handling, navigation, boat

safety, radio, GPS, Loran and Radar. You need not be a member

of the Diversey Yacht Club to attend. Everyone is invited. Bring

your family, friends and be a safe and informed boater.
